Glitzy, Glamorous + down right magical!

Speaking of magical, Chanel took us into another world filled with crystals upon crystals ... upon er, crystals!  Chanel is known for their use of tweed + classic suits, so we weren't surprised to find tailored, cropped skinny pants (and fancy pants at that!) + feminine, yet edgy silhouettes.  Crystal inspiration played a large roll + not only as a back drop.  Sparkled sheers + basic coats with dramatic shapes + colors made their way down the runway, as well as, glitter encrusted eyebrows! Hm, we have a strange feeling these glittery caterpillar brows will only fly in Chanel's Crystal Wonderland, but hey! we'll test the waters + let you know!    

... and then there was this bundle of cuteness!

Valentino Fall 2012 stole our little Field Note-filled hearts + ran!

From the black leather cape to the perfectly detailed coats, the start to this Collection was classic + edgy.

Oh, but it didn't end there, no sir!   The edgy-looks made their way into soft, feminine + flowy silhouettes that were enough to make our hearts skip a strut.  Then there was the bright red, modern jumpsuit ... GASP!  

Let's just note that chic, contemporary jumpsuits are in for Fall!

Don't worry - you aren't seeing triple...we just couldn't get over the amazing variety in Elie Saab's F/W 2012 collection at Paris Fashion week! His sleek black looks jump started the show and made us crave a European city street to sport these looks. Once we thought we'd never wear anything but black ever again, he switched things up with a set of tailored + ultra feminine neutrals which, again, we couldn't resist (now we have to find another European street to wear these...). His show wrapped up with amazing evening wear dripping with luxurious autumn-inspired textures and patterns (you know how we feel about textures + patterns!).

Alberta Ferretti's F/W 2012 Collection left us swimming in a deep sea of slenderous darkness (yes, slenderous is now a word).  Hey, we aren't complaining. Black is in for Fall, then again, is black ever really out?  Upon the ebony sheers, leathers + feathers, we found ourselves at a cliched "OMG I die" moment when the purple + blue furs came strutting towards us like some sort of glorious, furry abominable snowmodel stampede. The all-black made for eye popping furs ,while the black sheers left an overall whimsical feeling. Ah, at last colorful furs + romantic black feathers make their mark at Milan Fashion Week. On a side note, we need those stellar glasses.  And we need them now.

CLASSIC FEMININE + WAIST LINES + RUFFLES

Someone call Don Draper! Lorenzo Riva has stolen the Mad Men's classic ladies and put them on his runway in Milan

(Right down to the vintage black stockings)! These ultra-feminine tailored waist lines + eye catching ruffles are making for an unmistakably stunning F/W 2012 Collection and we are loving every thread of it. It looks like the trendy tooth necklace might be back for another appearance too!

Designer, Christopher Kane kicked-off the Versus F/W 2012 Collection with leather pieces ranging from coats with black leather sleeves + patched pockets to well-detailed leggings. The Collection then made it's way to beautifully vibrant dresses.  From the bold patterns + flashy tie-dyes to the solid peplum sleeves + peek-a-boos, 

we couldn't get enough of the fluorescent violet, citrine + turquoise!   

Who doesn't love a leather patchwork + turtleneck infused opening?

Who doesn't love a tie-dyed + Versace motivated ending?

The moment we saw this collection it made us think of that first exciting chill of 

Autumn and the warm mochas we'll be holding in our hands. 

Ah, Autumn + Starbucks hold a sacred happy place on our hearts. Snap out of it.

All of these looks held effortless, flowing style which was only enhanced by the 

chunky scarves + oversized sweaters. Well played Ms. Biagiotti, well played.

What we concluded? Skirts are a must for Fall + in Mulberry's case, heavy on the pencil.

MBFW: The GreenShows

The GreenShows brings Ethincally Concious Fashion to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

We took a behind-the-scenes look into The GreenShows at Fashion Week!  On Friday, February 10th The GreenShows kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, presenting 8 ready-to-wear fashion designers for the first time in their 3 year history at The Box at Lincoln Center.  Designers included Ajna, United Bamboo, Bamboo by United Bamboo,

 H. Fredriksson, Study NY, The Battalion, Luis Valenzuela, Artists and Revolutionaries.
