THE INSPIRATION STATION

Last week we were inspired by the above picture found posted on Lola Hats' Facebook Page, a great page to follow for us hat lovers. Aside from the fact that this picture embodies the epitome of  "perfect summer day" status, we are now obsessed with one thing and one thing only: head scarves, turbans, headbands, etc, etc. Last week we talked scarves for your bottoms, this week we talk bright colors, flirty florals + quite possibly the most stylish, euro-chic way to keep those summer waves up + away from your face. The same day we were inspired by this image, we received a picture from a friend, who shall not be named, Keren, that sparked our notable fancy, as well.  And although a completely different picture, there was a trend throughout.  Head scarves.  Said picture looked a little something like this ...

... Aw, baby pictures!  First things first, and bursting out into what was probably the most obnoxious cackle ever was definitely first.  It's our friend, so it's our duty to make fun of her.  Right?  Right.  Secondly, who knew how childhood-chic our friend was?  We were inspired, to say the least. And with all this being said, heard, seen, etc, etc. this summer we're bringing head scarves back!  There is just something so special about baby pics summer accessories + this one is oh-so hard to resist!

WEEKLY INSPIRATION

MAKING A SHEER SPLASH 

And we're back!  We've recently been inspired by Elle Magazine's June editorial 'Strong Suit,' photographed by KT Auleta + styled by Beth Fenton.  Simple, sheer, monochromatic + down right gorgeous, this less-is-more approach to summer is an inception we can't wait to bring to the beach! Ideally, we'll look exactly like model, Caroline Winberg, beautifully prancing through the waves in a sheer Chloé dress, each moment being brilliantly captured. What? It's Monday, dream big!  

We're thinking these Sue Maesta hair bands are necessary when accomplishing the look.

WEEKLY INSPIRATION

WE'RE FEELING WHIMSICAL

When we came across this fairy tale-esque image, we were struck by a fanciful daze + needed to see more!  That being said, today we're feeling whimsically inclined by the exquisite Amanda Pratt.  Who, might we add, has quite the list of clientele.  From Burberry to J.Crew to Leo Burnett, clearly this admired talent brings something special to the photography table.

WE'RE CRAZY FOR FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY

Today we are feeling exceptionally inspired, thanks to the talented photographer, Jonathan Glynn-Smith.  Jonathan has worked with notable clients, including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, GQ, Louis Vuitton + more.  Not only can you find his exhibitions in London + Paris, but you can also find many books of his work on coffee tables around the globe.  We need to go snag a book, ASAP! WE'RE "MAD" FOR GOOD 'OL FASHION CLASS

When we came across this Estee Lauder advertisement for a limited edition Mad Men make up collection, we were awe struck for good 'ol fashion class and style. That being said, this week's photography inspiration is brought to you by the works of British fashion photographer, Craig McDean. In demand by designers from Alexander McQueen to Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein to Tommy Hilfiger, and Oscar de la Renta to Versace, Craig's got quite the client list.

This week we are keeping simplicity + minimalism in mind 

with the help of Chase Jarvis Photography.

Life moves quickly + we often let purely beautiful elements pass us by, forgetting that less is in fact more. 
So today we're taking a screeching halt + smelling the roses, as Chase Jarvis captures daily moments through his lens. 
We can't help but open our eyes to such striking instances in which we sometimes overlook. 
 Field Note to Self:  All things ordinary + simple are effortlessly chic. Take in every moment, life is stylish!

'The swimmers' by LA based photographer, Tamar Levine.

We are taken into a fashionable dimension filled with Jackie O shades + voluptuous hair. 
Perhaps it's some 70's inspired sun bathing that will inspire the mind's eye or better yet, 
synchronized swimming turned artsy + glamorous. Either way, we are bringing the
 swimming cap back in some good way, shape or form.
