When denim vests are so hot right now.

In the wise words of LL Cool J, don't call it a comeback.  They've been here for years.
Whether they're bejeweled or dip-dyed, denim vests have arrived since the last time they re-arrived and then re-re-arrived after that one time they arrived.  You catch our drift?  Anywho, we've been stuck in a denim daze ever since we laid eyes on a number of adorably denimesque ensembles.  And it got us thinking, why haven't we thought outside of the box when it comes to denim?  As of late we have taken notice to the versatility of the wonderful world of denim (we ain't just talkin' vests) + all it has to offer.  Denim isn't always rocker-chic.  Per example, the notable following ... 

DENIM GONE GLAM

A tough look to pull off, especially at the Met Gala, but this style maven does it oh-so well! Jenna Lyons, can do no wrong in our notes. This look has done denim good, too good.

CASUALLY DENIM

We love the idea of pairing the denim vest with a classic dress or even a long billowy skirt (see: Jessica Alba below).  

A dress or any feminine piece, for that matter, adds flirtation to such a 'rough around the edges' staple.

This here diva was spotted at Aussie Fashion Week, sporting this season's hottest color trend. Only this time, adding a punch of unconventionality to it's oh-so dainty feel. We love the concept of soft, feminine colors kicked into high gear with a whole lotta edge. Pastel + leather (jackets, especially) is a combination we're finding pleasingly notable!

CLASSIC WHITE

A DELIGHT IN WHITE

Perhaps it's because Memorial Day is quickly approaching + us thrill seeking junkies are looking to rebel against some silly "rule" dubbing no white prior to what we're dubbing 'Mem-Day.'  Or, maybe it's because wedding season is in the air.  Both options sound awfully plausible, so we aren't quite sure which one is amusing our notable relish. However, through this babbling of ours, we've come to a conclusion ... dun, dun, dun!  The conclusion goes as follows: The combination of hearing bells + seeking thrills has got us in a state of white on white mania + we are head over heels for every second of it.  Ah, living life on the edge can be SO monochromatic-achromatic-chic. Yes, that's a thing now, especially during wedding season! All-in-all, white-on-white, Christmas-or-Wedding season, you go grab that net + catch that beautiful butterfly, pal!  More confused than when we started? Clicky here.

First + foremost, we have a small hunch that if Cindy-relly was cast sporting the below boots slippers, 
she wouldn't have been running around town wearing only one shoe.  What a noob.
  

Whether you're spotting touches of clarity + mesh on pumps, skirts, or dresses the fact of the matter is: Sheer is here! It's also here + here.  Which is neither here nor there, so let's focus on what's notably right here: These Maison Martin Margiela mesh + clear perspex heeled booties tickled our notable fancy , as soon as, they took a strut down Maison Martin Margiela's easy breezy SS12 runway.  We find them to be strikingly subtle, adding a hint of quirkiness to your summer wardrobe + length to those legs you'll be baring all summer long.   We need this uniquely nudey pair ASAP!

in head to toe black + white. 

 There is something special about black + white.  It's classic, chic, sophisticated + in most some cases reminds us of penguins + good swan/bad swan. Name one person who didn't enjoy Happy Feet or attend a screening of Black Swan.  They were both must-sees + those happy little penguins are awesome. Thus, implying the awesomeness that is black + white, making for an unstoppable pair. Edgy, yet soft.  Classic, yet trendy.  Penguin, yet not a penguin.  But more importantly, the pair knows when to take center stage + when to allow color to have it's pop. How generous of the two. So as we bask in the glory of black + white awesomeness, there is a board of clean + sleek inspiration waiting to be had.  
And remember, not everything is colored in black + white...This entire post being of exception ...

WHEN WARM WEATHER CALLS FOR A GROUND SWEEPING DRESS!

Isn't there just something magically glamorous about a flowy dress in the Summer breeze?  Pretty much all aspects of Spring + Summer seem to make us view everything in cupcake + rainbow lenses. Sure, the flowers, warm weather + garden parties have something to do with it, but lets not forget that it's seasons like this where we are no longer share the same color as a sheet of paper + it's okay if your hair looks like it just got back from an absurdly windy day at the beach. We were going for that "easy-breezy-maybe-I-didn't-brush-my-hair look to begin with. Anyway, we think we're going somewhere with this post + that somewhere is here: No matter where you are + what your hair looks like, as long as you're tan + wearing a flowy, floor length dress, everything in the world is cupcakes, rainbows + this morning's cinnabun.

When horizontal stripes are a Summer necessity! 

If you were to tell us that one time at Band Camp you never wore stripes, we wouldn't believe you.  So whether or not you deny the fact that stripes partake a significant roll in your Summer wardrobe, we say "Sport your stripes baby!" A Summer without stripes is like an Easter without the big creepy Bunny at your local mall.  Now that sh*t is cray.  Despite rumors that stripes have a tendency of making one appear larger, we encourage everyone to rebel against said rumor; It's just societies way of keeping populas from embracing their inner Sailor.  Anywho, have you seen the Ella Moss Chevron Striped Dress, how slenderizing!  Summer is around the corner, let's get Nautical!
